If a large tree begins with the planting of a small seed, the same can be said about newly emerging deaf communities or deaf cultures. Much of the Third World is barren soil with regards to deaf education and this is true in the country of Equatorial Guinea in Africa. A seed is now being planted in that country.

Noreen Corey has been working to educate deaf children for the past 20 years. She has a remarkable drive and passion to reach out to deaf youngsters who are impoverished and neglected. After serving in South America, she felt lead to Equatorial Guinea in Africa where deaf education was non-existent. Her pioneering efforts are impressive.
